<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
Have you been boo'd? It's a fun Halloween neighborhood activity where you leave treats anonymously at your neighbors door and ask that they "pay it forward" to another neighbor by leaving treats on their door. It's a unique way to spread Halloween fun (and get something yummy out of the deal). Plus, you get to ding dong ditch your neighbors, and that's always a blast. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
This is the first year that Ella and I have done the boo'ing. Three and a half years old is a really fun age. They totally "get it" and everything is still carefree and fun. There's no eye rolling, sighing, or complaining (though I'm sure its not far off). </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
This year we grabbed some cute Halloween baskets and filled them with various treats for our friends. Glow sticks, ghost lollipops, homemade peanut butter cookies, and mini glass milk bottles filled with candy. It was fun baking the cookies with Ella and making the ghost lollipops. (Tissues wrapped around tootsie pops, tied with ribbon and eyes drawn on with sharpie). </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
I filled and topped the mini milk bottles with Halloween fabric and twine. Then we printed Halloween labels from <a href="http://www.threelittlemonkeysstudio.com/free-classic-halloween-printables/" target="_blank">here</a> onto sticker paper and wrapped them around the bottles. The "boo" instructions and sign were a free download that you can find <a href="http://greysquaredesigns.blogspot.com/2011/09/youve-been-booed-free-printable.html" target="_blank">here</a>. Everything turned out super cute. It's a tradition I think we'll continue, as long as there's no eye rolling. </div>

A quick update on my 30 before thrity list. Since I turned 28 years old (gasp!) over the summer I thought I should update you all on how I'm doing on the list. Saying I neglected the blog would be an understatement, I dropped off the face of the blogging world. Here we are almost the end of 2013 and my last post was Halloween 2012. A LOT has happened in the last 365ish days. LOTS and LOTS. I guess you could say that life got "busy." I'll recap my year MIA with the three biggest things.<br />
<br />
<b>1. I got pregnant and had a baby. YES!! I told you, a lot really can happen in a year. </b>Starting the beginning of 2012 we started trying to have a baby. Ella was 18 months old and we thought it was time to starting thinking about another addition to the family. We didn't put to much pressure on ourselves thinking it would happen quickly, but month after month went by and the tests came back negative EVERY MONTH. After 3 or so months of negative tests I started using ovulation prediction tests to better our chances...still not pregnant. Spring and Summer came and went and several close friends announced their pregnancies along the way and still we tried and tried and it just wasn't happening. Ella turned two and my hopes of having kids 2.5 years apart went out the window. I was discouraged but knew that in God's timing we'd have another if we were supposed to. Then just two weeks before Christmas 2012 we got the best gift ever, a big fat POSITIVE test. I could barely contain myself. It had been a LONG nine months but finally we were having a baby! So this summer we welcomed <b>Maci Evelyn</b> to the family (I'll share her birth story soon). The little sister Ella had hoped for, and the baby her daddy and I prayed for.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ7rCjf-_CNSY3_BTLSkpPcjBd-c8J_re17wALzqhpOyymwVFY86XaG9jLDYT0jlp2eH9GK3-lMqM_rnOVQ8mprozB5Ol7ny6gAKWrst-yEz-porCqj93tUIeB24Kbyt257NeNYIYoDpY/s1600/photo+4-7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ7rCjf-_CNSY3_BTLSkpPcjBd-c8J_re17wALzqhpOyymwVFY86XaG9jLDYT0jlp2eH9GK3-lMqM_rnOVQ8mprozB5Ol7ny6gAKWrst-yEz-porCqj93tUIeB24Kbyt257NeNYIYoDpY/s640/photo+4-7.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>2. Ella turned THREE (hello! stop growing so fast!) and started preschool. </b>When they say don't blink, kids grow so fast, they really mean it! I can't believe that Ella is not only three (which we celebrated with a Doc McStuffin's themed party) but has started 5 day a week preschool. We placed her in a montessori program and to say she is enjoying it is an understatement. She loves her "work" and is thriving tremendously!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHGEAwe7_hMxfuihd6zQ79twa7DAT4h9QpxCUgQk1FpFxDNF_DQq6dSm-dE8v6LW4-UeRAI0FupexLWpejQomrvnfFTaI7Gh6OoM-xBEOFdddqhcoCVttv5wMr2HAB3HQ-8nGYdTsQEnk/s1600/photo+1-10.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHGEAwe7_hMxfuihd6zQ79twa7DAT4h9QpxCUgQk1FpFxDNF_DQq6dSm-dE8v6LW4-UeRAI0FupexLWpejQomrvnfFTaI7Gh6OoM-xBEOFdddqhcoCVttv5wMr2HAB3HQ-8nGYdTsQEnk/s640/photo+1-10.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>3. For the first time since Ella was born I started working outside the home. </b>I suppose this is the largest contributing factor to the blog being neglected. When you're pregnant, have a toddler and work outside the home there isn't a lot of extra time for keeping up on the blog. Like most families in the last few years, money was getting tight so this SAHM had to look for work outside the home. I found a job working part time at night after the husband came home. While in the first trimester of my pregnancy I was actually working two jobs. Let me tell you, there was a bit of mama guilt at times and it felt like a "break" being around adults and having someone besides a 2 year old to talk to at other times. <b>Verdict:</b> I love being a SAHM at this point in my life. Kids grow so fast (see #2) that I really cherish being able to be at home with them during their early years. I'm still on maternity leave from Maci's birth and I hope that I can keep it that way. Of course, i'll do whatever I have to for the family.<br />
<br />
Well I hope that explains my absence. And I hope I can jump back into posting more regularly too. It was nice logging into Blogger and seeing that even though I haven't touched the blog in almost a year I still average 100+ views a day and looking back at the stats some of my posts had thousands of views (thank you <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/abstractgrace/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>). One thing that I haven't neglected is my Instagram account. I post everyday so if you'd like to follow along there, please do! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was my first attempt at peg dolls after seeing a few around on the interwebs. Originally I wanted to use them to make Ella a kid friendly nativity for Christmas (which is only 2 months away, eek!). After doing some research on peg dolls, I decided I should try my hand at something less detailed then the three wise men and baby Jesus. It would be a shame to mess up baby Jesus on my first try, don't ya think?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stumbled upon <a href="http://www.craftinterrupted.com/" target="_blank">this great blogger</a> and her <a href="http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/2012/09/please-welcome-tiffany-from-craft.html" target="_blank">awesome walkthrough on the basics of painting peg dolls</a> while doing my research. I knew nothing of how to get started with these little pegs, so a big thanks goes out to her lovely tutorial on how to get started with halloween peg dolls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I ordered my wooden peg dolls from Hobby Lobby online. I used the 2 5/16 inch" <a href="http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/birch-man-165530/" target="_blank">B</a><a href="http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/birch-man-165530/" target="_blank">irch Man</a> peg for these. They also sell a smaller 1 11/16" <a href="http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/birch-boy-165563/" target="_blank">Birch Boy</a> which I ordered to use for baby Jesus. </div>

As you can see Ella loves them. They're just the perfect size for her tiny hands.</div>

This little guy is my favorite. His pointy little teeth and cape, so cute. Very Twilight-esque if you ask me. Hm, Twilight themed pegs....I could be onto something. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The great thing about pegs are that you can decide how much detail you want to add to them. I added some stitches to Frankenstein and a drip of blood to Mr. Vampire. Feel free to go all out or keep them simple and plain. This being my first time, I kept them fairly simple.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used regular old cheap Folk Art craft paints. After everything was good and dry (I let them dry overnight after they were all finished) I sealed them with 3 coats of <a href="http://www.plaidonline.com/mod-podge-hard-coat-8-oz/92/cs11245/product.htm" target="_blank">Modge Podge Hardcoat</a>. I wanted then to stand up to the heavy wear and tear of 2.5 year olds.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These have opened a door wide open! I've already had about 30 ideas for other peg dolls, and have started working on Ella's nativity. I will warn you, they can be a little time consuming depending on your level of perfectionism, but the end product is SO worth it!</div>

Its been a while since I've shared another of the items in Ella's felt food collection, but since we had bacon wrapped jalapenos poppers (with jalapenos from our garden) last night, I thought it was appropriate to share the felt version.<br />
<br />
It was a very simple one to make. Two 6 inch dark red pieces of felt with curvy sides sewn together and two white wavy stripes of felt sewn on top. Voila! Bacon without all the calories!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't mention it but my birthday was a couple weeks back and I turned 27. Ugh, just the sound of it bothered me in the months leading up to the actual day. This was the first year that getting older really freaked me out. 27 isn't exactly old I guess, but it sure feels like you're on your way and thats the part I loathe. You can't say you're in your early 20's or even mid 20's anymore. You're officially in your <i>late 20's</i> and well...in my book that's old.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I got all nostalgic and started thinking about my life. The things I have accomplished in my 27 years so far and the things I <b>want</b> to accomplish in the future. After thinking long and hard (oh who am I kidding, it was more like wallowing in my "oldness") I came up with a list of 30 things I'd like to do/accomplish/have before I turn <u>THIRTY</u> years old. So here it is:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'll check in along the way and keep you updated as I check things off of my list. And I encourage you all to think about some of the things that you'd like to do before you turn 25, 30, 35, 40...whatever your next birthday milestone is. I shared on Monday about my <a href="http://abstractgrace.blogspot.com/2012/07/homemade-peach-jam.html" target="_blank">jam making adventure.</a> I also left you with a preview of a small project I did as an accompaniment to my gifting jars of peach jam to friends and family. Im sure we've all seen the hammered flat spoons with stamped lettering, right? Here's another spin on silverware stamping, butter/jam knives.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuh0TV0RkNi2IH_h9oF05wKeKEn082wA5Z5N76_tmaob43tFtRHOavG8PnoWdeDq-AHg30C-O3-PWoGFI6pumJHb6rLYoUBCyXd0CyVDfw51xK01r4lrAbwghTS8sPEkJfm7Z3x9VABD0/s1600/DSC_0023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuh0TV0RkNi2IH_h9oF05wKeKEn082wA5Z5N76_tmaob43tFtRHOavG8PnoWdeDq-AHg30C-O3-PWoGFI6pumJHb6rLYoUBCyXd0CyVDfw51xK01r4lrAbwghTS8sPEkJfm7Z3x9VABD0/s640/DSC_0023.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a stop by the thrift store and picked up a variety of spreader knives for $.10 each. Then using the metal stamping kit I already had I picked a phrase and steadied my hand. One good whack of the hammer on the end of the stamp was all it took. The hardest part is lining up the letters straight and getting a good impression on the silverware. Hit it too hard and you'll double up the letter, too soft and you wont get the full letter stamped into the knife.</div>

After the knives were stamped I used a permanent sharpie and filled the letters in. Then I used a magic eraser to wipe off the excess sharpie, leaving the letters darkened. Then to make sure the knife is food safe I ran them through the dishwasher. Easy peasy!</div>

I may have a new hobby. Yes, another to add to the list of 1,345,215 things that I enjoy doing. Canning! Travis and I ventured into canning when we were trying to make his barbecue sauce shelf stable. So we packed the mason jars full of sauce and boiled them, then sat back and listened to the "ping, ping, ping" and they self sealed. So gratifying to hear that little sound.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
My sister in law recently bought a new house in the area and was lucky enough that the property came with 3 mature fruit trees, two apricot and one peach. We feasted on apricots (one of my favorites) prior to out adventures in canning, otherwise i'd be slathering apricot jam on every food item at every meal. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Don't get me wrong, when we visited the new place a few weeks later we were lucky enough to pull about 20lbs of beautifully ripe peaches from her tree. She didn't want them and sent them home with us. I immediately knew I wanted to try my hand at making peach jam and canning it, and so I did!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
We followed the directions on the back of the Sure Jell pectin package. "If its not broke don't fix it" was our first time jam making motto. And it turned out SO GOOD!!! I made a whopping 21 jars of jam and our tiny family of three has already gone through almost three jars. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also had to have labels for the jars. Im kinda obsessed with sticker paper and making custom tags and labels and stuff. It makes it look so much more <i>official. </i>I came across this amazing site called <a href="http://www.jamlabelizer.com/" target="_blank">the jam labelizer</a> where you can customize different designs and print them. Super easy, super cute. I named my jam after the little one-of course. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also DIY'ed a little something extra to go with the jam I gave to a few friends. There's a sneak peak below, but I'll share more about that later this week. Now don't be intimidated, go make some jam!</div>

Ella's Yo Gabba Gabba 2nd birthday party was a huge success! I'll share pics of the party soon, but until then I wanted to share the "thank you" card that I designed for all her guests. </div>

I really enjoy designing invites and thank you's. Here is a thank you I designed recently for a friends little boy. Can you guess the theme of his 2nd birthday party...yep, Sesame Street!</div>

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy tutorial for making 4th of July decorations. Pinwheels are fun, simple to make, require basic supplies, and are perfect for last minute procrastinators, ahem...like myself. I made two sizes of pinwheels, a 12 inch and a 6 inch. Both are fun, but the large ones really make an impact. I chose not to put stakes on mine, but if you'd like to line your driveway or use them as festive cake toppers just tape a bbq skewer onto the back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy decorating! </div>

Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl. I can't believe you're TWO years old today. You're truly the most beautiful child and I'm blessed beyond measure by your loving spirited personality. You have the best parts of your daddy and I, and we love you SO MUCH!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After my attempt at <a href="http://abstractgrace.blogspot.com/2012/05/homemade-junk-free-fruit-roll-ups.html" target="_blank">homemade fruit roll ups</a> I decided to try my hand at another homemade snack, apple chips! I love the store bought ones, but they tend to be expensive and chocked full of preservatives and added sugar. Today I have a recipe for the easiest snack ever. They're perfect for making in large batches, taste amazing, and keep well for extended periods of time. They are also great for using only organic ingredients, because well...there are only 2 in this recipe.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ella loves them, this pic of her trying to steal the bowl of them is proof that they're kid friendly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha2btPaHS1Ef1zU78su7UFxrKVXy8C_I7xkOCH0LlVW8_URjnUMv4-rsPBs5kIXwxq7eSZofpTtFgrOPnfzDiFzqRDFMuag7cpn5WUHvDRfvkdB4nc3mqdcYG2ZWTWUpSAZ1g2HlaS0dA/s1600/DSC_0225.JPG" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;"><b>Step 1</b></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;">: </span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wash and slice 2 apples into thin slices. The thinner they are the faster they dry out, and the more chips you get, however they are crispier. So if you like less crunch and more crisp then opt for slightly thicker slices.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b>:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Remove the seeds and any tough bits of the apple core. I used a metal pastry tip as a tiny cookie cutter type tool to cut out the middles of my apple. (You can see it pictured in the photo next to the cinnamon).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Wa-S2epT28V_zlsmQ4sDxvZYOQxkD9xAOYug32onpBu-wbkVlqCxQcASMgHU3D0yrn7y4sGFJMss5QAZ_1DbrUj8GKA9px_RGzv3gDLXfAbYsHpHY70MYJ65HOmP4gHWqYpU5caGIU4/s1600/DSC_0214.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Wa-S2epT28V_zlsmQ4sDxvZYOQxkD9xAOYug32onpBu-wbkVlqCxQcASMgHU3D0yrn7y4sGFJMss5QAZ_1DbrUj8GKA9px_RGzv3gDLXfAbYsHpHY70MYJ65HOmP4gHWqYpU5caGIU4/s1600/DSC_0214.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3</b>:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Place apple slices on parchment paper lined baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon, organic preferably. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4</b>:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Set your oven to 225 degrees. You want a low temperature because you aren't cooking the apple slices, you are drying them out. It should take about 2 hours to dry out the apples, depending on how thick they are sliced. Flip them after an hour. If they are not done after two hours just check on them every 15-20 min until they are dry to the touch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-EBFOVGYOt6j2VeRCfzJniJZJcLcB4YLU4p70VstUDI2hrxaWeAMk17TEc3S4OONiNlIaSDQmVIjb89zCco5cma_m89hIPBp-27f6D0z1NN616biz-CiNuHaYYXIAkoxUAplxr4vt-4/s1600/DSC_0217.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-EBFOVGYOt6j2VeRCfzJniJZJcLcB4YLU4p70VstUDI2hrxaWeAMk17TEc3S4OONiNlIaSDQmVIjb89zCco5cma_m89hIPBp-27f6D0z1NN616biz-CiNuHaYYXIAkoxUAplxr4vt-4/s1600/DSC_0217.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Voila!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They're done. Now try not to eat them all in one sitting. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Believe me, you'll be tempted to. </div>

Memorial Day weekend is a special time around our house because Ella was born on Memorial Day 2010. It's great for her because she'll always have a 3 day weekend for her birthday, and great for mommy and daddy because we have an extra day to recuperate after all her birthday festivities. </div>

This wreath is so colorful and perfect for letting the neighborhood know that someone in your household has a birthday. I'm looking forward to hanging it up a few times a year to celebrate all our birthdays. It's so cheerful, who wouldn't be happy when they see it. </div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Supplies needed:</span><br />
<b>14" Styrofoam wreath</b> (I got mine at Michaels, it was $6.99, but with a 40% off coupon I paid $4.50)<br />
<b>2 Pkgs 100 ct greening pins</b> (Got these at Walmart in the floral section for $1.00 a package)<br />
<b>3 Pkgs 72 ct Balloons</b> (Also purchased at Walmart for $4.50 a package)<br />
<b>Ribbon </b>(I already had on hand)<br />
<br />
TOTAL COST: $20.00<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>NOTE</b>: Before you get started, you have the option to wrap your styrofoam wreath in ribbon. I decided to do this so that the back of the wreath is covered in something instead of seeing styrofoam, it just gives it a more polished look. It's not necessary though because you wont be seeing the back side of the wreath when the project is finished. Just personal preference.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1: </b></div>

Take 2 balloons and stack them on top of eachother. Place the middle of the stacked balloons between a greening pin.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Make sure the balloons are centered, if they're not you can adjust them once you push them into the stryofoam wreath, but better to make sure they are before you push them in. Assuring they are centered helps keep your wreath uniform and full. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3: </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Keep on goin'! Continue to place balloons into the wreath until you've covered the whole front side of the wreath. Depending on how big/wide your wreath is you'll need to put more balloons towards the middle and the outer edges. You want your balloons to be close together so that you cannot see the wreath underneath, but not so tight otherwise you'll run out of balloons the last few inches, and running out to buy more balloons when you're that close to finishing doesn't sound like fun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjJtBTQyh4mdCz3G2Z14fOrKoditX54wCiBBedbyl2tROVyS4kMsI2AvJp71geEewr3P-2QNskqvcg2opVddtl6dcI7vsWiidU4LnxuZUp9de66e3p_T1EmRo178sxExrEQv0f1B-0Y9o/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: black;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjJtBTQyh4mdCz3G2Z14fOrKoditX54wCiBBedbyl2tROVyS4kMsI2AvJp71geEewr3P-2QNskqvcg2opVddtl6dcI7vsWiidU4LnxuZUp9de66e3p_T1EmRo178sxExrEQv0f1B-0Y9o/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yep, there's A LOT of balloons to be attached, so keep on going!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4</b>: (not pictured)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before you completely cover the wreath cut a length of ribbon to hang your wreath and attach it with a few greening pins, then continue to cover right over that ribbon with the rest of your balloons. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
You're finished! Now hang that baby up and get ready to celebrate!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lately I've been on a crazy fruit eating, no carb, no sugar eating spree. I've been watching the calories i'm eating and cut out, well...almost everything I used to eat (ie. junk, junk and more junk). I was craving something sweet but with no added sugar. This recipe fit the bill perfectly! It's only 2 ingredients and you can feel good that it doesn't have all the chemicals and junk that traditional fruit roll ups are filled with.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pour the strawberry puree onto a parchment lined baking sheet. The parchment is important. It will keep the fruit roll ups from sticking and help them to come off in one big sheet.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikKwMTnWHXEg2O4ICKrjbmRFKQ2_Frve3kC6tP0OGQM6_owpfEmYnf51Z7zh32ulZaDLaAj43HTI9VgzN7m-r2zDJH0l1xA79zQY0WYWSslZQH7IBVkLkEtLsvkF5i4TVbXbGYMF5V6FM/s1600/DSC_0200.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikKwMTnWHXEg2O4ICKrjbmRFKQ2_Frve3kC6tP0OGQM6_owpfEmYnf51Z7zh32ulZaDLaAj43HTI9VgzN7m-r2zDJH0l1xA79zQY0WYWSslZQH7IBVkLkEtLsvkF5i4TVbXbGYMF5V6FM/s1600/DSC_0200.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Spread the puree out, try and keep it in an even thin layer on the baking sheet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQOqfEPqUMzKCr0D3gV_IQFA-uykyVOER62LkXNsKA2H7x0c9JQ_oj5FU3t2_zbM8hpsBknZQLqD4PrqrcGelOWdEcIGxB5ZoVCfBG-b9x__TilpCLh5ld8cdN-vUbFKCzihqKSIQyPbg/s1600/DSC_0201.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQOqfEPqUMzKCr0D3gV_IQFA-uykyVOER62LkXNsKA2H7x0c9JQ_oj5FU3t2_zbM8hpsBknZQLqD4PrqrcGelOWdEcIGxB5ZoVCfBG-b9x__TilpCLh5ld8cdN-vUbFKCzihqKSIQyPbg/s1600/DSC_0201.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the puree. It gives it a subtle flavor. Yummy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgETZ-zMeZty_z1Iln9n2fDzctiPDvPiYb06ESjs7yluE5EP3S3WgCFlIzDM1oiNVg2zJlI32mDAn-gkaolEqGP2j5n7cwke5fLWiirQn1VOQRug67iRm8YEDVVnnnzPaiDTR6yfjICcC0/s1600/DSC_0199.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgETZ-zMeZty_z1Iln9n2fDzctiPDvPiYb06ESjs7yluE5EP3S3WgCFlIzDM1oiNVg2zJlI32mDAn-gkaolEqGP2j5n7cwke5fLWiirQn1VOQRug67iRm8YEDVVnnnzPaiDTR6yfjICcC0/s1600/DSC_0199.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next, turn you oven to the lowest temperature it will go, for my oven that was 180 degrees. Leave in the warm oven for 6-8 hours or until the strawberry puree is dry to the touch. When its done let it cool to room temp and peel it off the parchment, then roll up, cut and enjoy!</div>

Here's our first breakfast addition to the felt food collection, waffles and pancakes! The waffles were just squares of felt with batting in between sewn together. I went back and sewed squares in the middle to show the pockets real waffles have. If you're interested in how I made the pancakes (complete with butter pats a top) check out <a href="http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2009/12/hot-stack-tutorial.html">this great tutorial</a>, I used the same method. </div>

Lately its been the little things, materialistically speaking, that have had me in a good mood. I definitely will say that "things" don't make me happy, but every now and then I come across something that brightens my day. It could be fresh flowers for the house or a new vintage find. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are some of my favorite things right now...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbW3nZjKAxB2lAI4OSUXCYaK8DLQaLlqPt-1pxFt_fDGpmzZOvubbiDCi_ef3vUjETrAA471_jX36R6QthlWJ0kQZWwVdGTcw-EHI77i-irwwScgcw7Yh7yMDF7plok-iHN8eLA2P66M92/s1600/DSC_0169.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbW3nZjKAxB2lAI4OSUXCYaK8DLQaLlqPt-1pxFt_fDGpmzZOvubbiDCi_ef3vUjETrAA471_jX36R6QthlWJ0kQZWwVdGTcw-EHI77i-irwwScgcw7Yh7yMDF7plok-iHN8eLA2P66M92/s1600/DSC_0169.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My new beautiful, buttery, <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/21189147.jsp">leather Valise Journal</a> via <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/">Anthropologie</a>. I chose the yellow because it makes me happy, but they also have a gorgeous teal/green color. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.zappos.com/salt-water-sandal-by-hoy-shoes~2">Saltwater Sandals</a>. I've always been a fan of this sandal, but never owned a pair (at least past the age of 5). After <a href="http://www.chelsea-bird.com/">Chelsea</a> (a lovely <a href="http://www.chelsea-bird.com/">blogger</a> I follow on Instagram) posted a few photos in her classic black Saltwaters I decided to buy a pair. They're SO comfy. I'm very happy with these shoes!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Two vintage dresses I thrifted for Ella. Those polka dots really got me, and the red nautical buoys? C'mon now...too much.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjVdoJ045sLY4eMA1ek59uuHEE303FBDhvbahQ0JVDzr2R_DxTZkU58B8_EKkYpGm0xA32A0DHaYx7LIu5kkF7fzuTaQJV4Jr_96mDsih58Fr6WAJ8jOQ5RmL48FthD6AkqycmwRDImic/s1600/IMG_2859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjVdoJ045sLY4eMA1ek59uuHEE303FBDhvbahQ0JVDzr2R_DxTZkU58B8_EKkYpGm0xA32A0DHaYx7LIu5kkF7fzuTaQJV4Jr_96mDsih58Fr6WAJ8jOQ5RmL48FthD6AkqycmwRDImic/s1600/IMG_2859.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly I was so excited to find this buffalo check table cloth (which I also thrifted). It fits Ella's kids table perfectly.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I really love party planning and putting a handmade touch on party decor. Here are a few Instagram photos (follow me! my handle is abstractgrace) of the party decor.<br />
<br />
I was also happy to find that Kim from <a href="http://www.thetomkatstudio.com/">The Tomkat Studio</a>, has teamed up with <a href="http://www.potterybarnkids.com/">Pottery Barn Kids</a> sharing great party ideas. There are some great video tutorials and free printables for all types of party decor. I took advantage of her beautiful designs and used the <a href="http://www.potterybarnkids.com/design-studio/celebration/sunshine_baby_shower.html">Sunshine Baby Shower</a> suite for printable decor and invitations.<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
I wanted to go with a yellow and grey color scheme from the beginning. I thought that it was a perfect blend of gender neutral (she was having a boy). I didn't want to go to "boy-ish" with the shower. I guess I just like thing uber-girly!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
The brunch menu included crepes with nutella, peanut butter, and preserves. We also had fruit salad, quiche, goat cheese and crackers, and lemon bars (Ina Garten's amazing <a href="http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-bars-recipe/index.html">recipe</a>). Yellow daises in mason jars tied with twine adorned the buffet and tables, and several walls were covered in vertical hanging crepe paper streamers and yellow and grey tissue paper poms.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
My favorite part of the shower was the polaroid guest book. We set up a table with several chalkboard props and took pics of guests when they arrived. Then they were able to write a message below their photo to the mom-to-be and baby. Afterwards all the pictures went into a memory book of the shower as a keepsake for mom. </div>

Here it is, piece #3, a fancy peel-able banana!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found a great tutorial for this piece over at the blog <a href="http://lyneya.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/tutorial-felt-banana-in-peel-or-corn-in-husk/">Just Stuff</a>. It's always the piece that I get the most comments on. "Oh, a banana! And look it comes out of the peel!" Its the little things, I guess? ;) You can also use this same method for making a corn in it's husk. </div>

Spring is here! Yay, finally! The sun is shinning which makes taking blog photos much more enjoyable than fighting with dark skies and no natural light. It also makes me want to clean and eat healthier because I know i'll be forced into a swimsuit in a few short months (ugh). I'm trying to eat healthier (mmm...pizza) and tried my hand making a green smoothie after seeing a few motivating Instagram pics by <a href="http://foodcomablog.com/">Emma</a> over at <a href="http://shopredvelvet.com/">Red Velvet</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_M7zBCQkLWzqHE1iXg0JOQ7vBRE_FQQ2ebrNlrt79Ct-G_EuFGRIoY1Uh7FJIQzWrIPkk9DHQKiSRPJ9_Z-P_fzA6K2yo50f0urvTZHG4dYAfqrF-P24g1PD9XHFh9Pyxx1-XCdF8sk_q/s1600/DSC_0164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_M7zBCQkLWzqHE1iXg0JOQ7vBRE_FQQ2ebrNlrt79Ct-G_EuFGRIoY1Uh7FJIQzWrIPkk9DHQKiSRPJ9_Z-P_fzA6K2yo50f0urvTZHG4dYAfqrF-P24g1PD9XHFh9Pyxx1-XCdF8sk_q/s1600/DSC_0164.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one has:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
two handfuls of spinach</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
one sliced apple</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
three large strawberries</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
one scoop protein powder</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
one cup water</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
a handful of ice</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJFOYUdcS7vtDX3IWxnY9NYaAUhY4vX7ZBcaphmeyXW27DXe4J4KKvUsfREcrwRwU4BQhd6LT_94YgCmwFq8N5X12WhJsBqFq7u4T-yw9uWWlJlyyoS6Y2nhQ8HoKn0v0QeHhFom2Ezqv7/s1600/DSC_0167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJFOYUdcS7vtDX3IWxnY9NYaAUhY4vX7ZBcaphmeyXW27DXe4J4KKvUsfREcrwRwU4BQhd6LT_94YgCmwFq8N5X12WhJsBqFq7u4T-yw9uWWlJlyyoS6Y2nhQ8HoKn0v0QeHhFom2Ezqv7/s1600/DSC_0167.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The verdict? It was yummy overall. I couldn't taste the spinach at all, but the consistency was rather thick. I think adding more ice would help for next time. The thing I like about it is that its filling. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. I'm looking forward to trying a few others this week, maybe something with blueberries? That sounds tasty.</div>

I just wanted to share with you a project I completed last week, a DIY kitchen blackboard. It was beyond easy, and only cost me $3.99! I've been wanting a chalkboard near the kitchen to write lists, notes, and menu plans on but the size of the wall I wanted to put it on was rather awkward. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicPJJ1fq-fIY2h_XrNblVXxyOOz-yMN3dx9TbLf5nUwmxpR6XY4tjQ528Rv1fGKjZJHo2E-qjM0sljSi-EIBdkygvL_1vi6lTtVvQqTgIjj3YhYPbNDgo0-30N2kfmH2JVGhHJvZ4qzxOk/s1600/DSC_0171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicPJJ1fq-fIY2h_XrNblVXxyOOz-yMN3dx9TbLf5nUwmxpR6XY4tjQ528Rv1fGKjZJHo2E-qjM0sljSi-EIBdkygvL_1vi6lTtVvQqTgIjj3YhYPbNDgo0-30N2kfmH2JVGhHJvZ4qzxOk/s1600/DSC_0171.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The frame I picked up at the thrift store, and the paint I already had. I just gave the frame a coat of white paint, then sanded around the edges for a distressed look. Then I flipped the mat board in the frame over and gave it two good coats of chalkboard paint. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Easy peasy. </div>

If you're wondering where the quote is from, it's from the original movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Willy Wonka whispers "so shines a good deed in a weary world" when Charlie gives back the gobstopper. It's probably my all time favorite quote. Ever. :)</div>

Here it is...felt food #2...Watermelon! It's large, about 10" long, and was fun to make. I hand stitched the seeds with embroidery floss, and stuffed it with poly fill. </div>

Last summer I had a grand idea to make a few pieces of felt food a week for Ella. I was hoping that by Christmas I'd have a rather large selection to give to her along with the play kitchen we made for her (more on that project later). So I started making felt food. LOTS of it. I managed to take pictures of ALL of it, so I'll share one food at a time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKtZBJocxc2Ml4j0SDwbgs1IQj3_UrC-keYurero_KxrlRBYS1sV9L8M1VunRLTnj8FITwOGqyP9tDyy6LRCkRtpyNDxlO6DsCyfSjZo8vvs24J-GhPeRB4whAqota2604TZa-U6_bh1Ev/s1600/feltfood1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKtZBJocxc2Ml4j0SDwbgs1IQj3_UrC-keYurero_KxrlRBYS1sV9L8M1VunRLTnj8FITwOGqyP9tDyy6LRCkRtpyNDxlO6DsCyfSjZo8vvs24J-GhPeRB4whAqota2604TZa-U6_bh1Ev/s1600/feltfood1.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a lot of work, but very much worth it. Ella loves to play with it, and I'm hoping that these will hold up to pass down to the next kid (whenever that it) and maybe even their kids!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First up, and perhaps my favorite of the bunch...Strawberries!</div>

I've been addicted to Pinterest (who isn't, right?) for a long while now. It's just the most amazing place to find new recipes, projects, and inspiration. I came across these Valentines day jars and happened to have everything to make them on hand (love when that happens).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisd2oawIN7W3VkPiPJWmyWLPxq7NjETD-yJZidMbCwpb9W2v8KKzOj29aOzMWQJG7RC0KBwD093PnapR8UY1UtWEwLIpmwIXm4Cq5biv0XeSWNjzjEkDC5i56It9OnOSHdx2xpN4MD-G-O/s1600/vdayjar4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisd2oawIN7W3VkPiPJWmyWLPxq7NjETD-yJZidMbCwpb9W2v8KKzOj29aOzMWQJG7RC0KBwD093PnapR8UY1UtWEwLIpmwIXm4Cq5biv0XeSWNjzjEkDC5i56It9OnOSHdx2xpN4MD-G-O/s1600/vdayjar4.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First off I dyed my doilies in coffee. Don't worry, it was cold, old, stale coffee from the morning (wouldn't want to go wasting good coffee now would we?). I basically just let the doilies soak in the coffee for a few min, then placed them on a paper towel to dry. The rule of thumb is that the longer you leave them in, the darker they get.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3sCfRswfYrYp9iA-YGdC2PwyPid6-9VW4sCq_cBPUtY0LpLjrQsHImjOQYEkQFB6WD11lhEIG3QlmOBFWDtoz93YjGB89YHJm8QruqY0E6hz2DTFsJq5NmeYv4RmVdfeb5-qsQ23zyFI/s1600/vdayjar1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3sCfRswfYrYp9iA-YGdC2PwyPid6-9VW4sCq_cBPUtY0LpLjrQsHImjOQYEkQFB6WD11lhEIG3QlmOBFWDtoz93YjGB89YHJm8QruqY0E6hz2DTFsJq5NmeYv4RmVdfeb5-qsQ23zyFI/s1600/vdayjar1.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBvzPmMsPrd1-9FtDkB3N2RWwHhRPx2R7s8gFPe3KqVxFAfdEm5L_cW1KJt0Ym8TZtNuNQsGqECko7jvTLHlM4ySCita7Zbovb_SnhAmJpIQm49PhQDGuJOimiUza5NVDoKr8VtxFzSkdb/s1600/vdayjar3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBvzPmMsPrd1-9FtDkB3N2RWwHhRPx2R7s8gFPe3KqVxFAfdEm5L_cW1KJt0Ym8TZtNuNQsGqECko7jvTLHlM4ySCita7Zbovb_SnhAmJpIQm49PhQDGuJOimiUza5NVDoKr8VtxFzSkdb/s1600/vdayjar3.JPG" /></a></div>
Then you just cut some hearts out of felt, and wrap the doilies and felt hearts around the jar with your bakers twine. I used a variety of jars I had on hand, so anything goes. Then you can fill your jars with candy or even use them as small flower vases. Easy peasy.<br />

While the husband and I were grocery shopping the other day Ella spotted a box of Princess valentines. She screamed "Cinderella! Princess!" in the middle of the store so I let her hold the box while we finished shopping. When it was time to checkout, Travis and I did the whole "distract and hide" bit to get the valentines out of her hands (if you have kids you know <i>exactly</i> what that is). </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had borrowed a silicone heart mold from a friend and planned to make some homemade crayons as valentines. It was a really really easy project and they turned out so cute! I can't wait to package them up and give them to her friends.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl_M90Ehw3EMxNQ1MBUE8nWiZdsILaUO5JwKgcFk59TYGg0lI8_zUUEnb9LNLYAmdpFrsjgSfNAc1sdeU805Usp_hdQ2SIsWSWE26BN1bbFK9qzbHhVdcwe-Xk1sYORpuh3jJj3DYYx7B-/s1600/crayonheart5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl_M90Ehw3EMxNQ1MBUE8nWiZdsILaUO5JwKgcFk59TYGg0lI8_zUUEnb9LNLYAmdpFrsjgSfNAc1sdeU805Usp_hdQ2SIsWSWE26BN1bbFK9qzbHhVdcwe-Xk1sYORpuh3jJj3DYYx7B-/s1600/crayonheart5.JPG" /></a></div>

Here's how to do it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Peel the paper off of the crayons and break them up into small pieces. Fill the mold with the crayon bits (not too full, you don't want the melted crayons to spill over) and stick the mold on a baking sheet lined with foil (in case any crayon spills over). Put it in the oven at 250 degrees for 10-15 minutes. You'll be able to see when all the crayon bits are completely melted.<i> It's optional but before I put the crayon pieces into the mold I gave each mold a shake or two of glitter.</i> Once the crayons are completely melted take them out and let them cool in the mold on the counter or for faster cooling you can put it in the freezer. Then just pop them out of their molds. And just like that, brand new crayons!</div>

I separated my red, pink and purple bits together and green and blue bits together. You can mix all your colors together or separate them for a more uniform look. It's up to you!</div>

I bought some 4" clear cellophane bags at Michaels to package them up in and plan on making a bag topper to attach to the top. Of course this is not only a great project for Valentines, but for anytime you have a million broken crayons lying around. I think her little friends will really enjoy their sparkly crayon Valentines. <3<br />
